The Ministry of Tourism has issued a tender for the consulting and technical supervision for the rehabilitation of the Hotel Frances and equipping for the Edificio Savinon in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City.
The Hotel Frances is part of the Accor Hotels chain and is located in a 16th century building that partially collapsed in May 2015 due to irregularities in the renovation works carried out as part of an Inter-American Development Bank-sponsored program, Programa de Fomento al Turismo de la Ciudad Colonial.
To bid in the tender, the companies must have been in operation for at least 10 years, be a member of a country affiliated to the IDB, and have proven experience in restoration and conservation of cultural heritage assets.
