Take advantage of the times and do your money transfers online, or do all your banking operations within a single shopping mall using the different bank branches continues to be good advice to avoid being robbed these days.
Dominican TV personality, now minister counselor at the Dominican Embassy in Cuba Socorro Castellanos, reported that two men robbed her at gunpoint yesterday, Wednesday, 3 February 2016. She said she had gone to the bank and was carrying RD$190,000 to make other payments and US$2,000 in cash, her diplomatic credentials and her cell phone when she was stopped at a commercial center on Santo Domingo’s Av. 27 de Febrero and was robbed at gunpoint before getting out of the car. She suspects she was followed from the bank because she did not even have time to turn off the engine when she was being held up.
After committing the armed robbery, the assailant got on a motorcycle driven by another and sped off.
This is the second time that she has reported being targeted by armed robbers. Three years ago she was mugged on Calle Fantino Falco in Naco, in Santo Domingo.
