According to a new opinion poll carried out by Markestrategia, if the elections were today, rather than 90 days away, the PLD candidate and current President, Danilo Medina would win with 61.5% of the votes and PRM candidate Luis Abinader would have 26.5%. Guillermo Moreno from Alianza Pais would have 1.8%, and Pelegrin Castillo, Minou Tavarez Mirabal and Elias Wessin would have 0.2% each.
The research was carried out between 29 and 31 January 2016 with a sample of 1,350 people and a margin of error of 2.8%.
