Watch the Dominican Republic’s top professional tennis player Victor Estrella (ranked 56th in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals) play. Estrella has won the Ecuador Open Quito of the ATP World Tour for two consecutive years. Today, Wednesday, 10 February 2016 he is playing Gonzalo Lama of Chile (ranked 263rd by ATP). Tennis matches start at 2pm at the clay courts of the Santo Domingo Tennis Club (La Bocha) and there is US$75,000 in prize money. The tournament is taking place from 6-14 February.
In the first round, Jose (Bebo) Hernandez of the Dominican Republic defeated Alejandro Gonzalez 7/6(3), 4/6 and 6/3.
Victor Estrella is the oldest tennis player in the ATP top 100 singles ranking.
The Milex Open is the leading annual tennis tournament in the Dominican Republic with 64 players from 30 countries taking part this year.
