The Santo Domingo Water and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) says that it has significantly improved water supplies in the Santo Domingo East (SDE) area, as reported in El Nuevo Diario yesterday, Wednesday 10 February 2016. The CAASD reported that it is providing the eastern part of the city with 27 million additional gallons of water a day as a result of repairs to equipment and refurbishing of the well fields in La Joya, Los Marenos, as well as the expansion of distribution lines.
The CAASD says that Santo Domingo East received water all day and night, especially neighborhoods south of the Las Americas Expressway, which had been experiencing water supply cuts lasting as long as a week. The Water Corporation said that some neighborhoods like Villa Duarte and Villa Olimpica, where water used to be supplied just once a week, are now getting water three times a week.
