The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has announced the disbursement of RD$1.6 billion in funds for the 2016 political campaigns.
The JCE now will deliver the funds to the authorized political parties.
The main beneficiaries are the PLD with RD$429,356,512.80 and the PRSC and PRD minority parties, each of which will receive the same sum.
The main opposition parties according to recent polls, the PRM, Alianza por la Democracia and Alianza Pais will receive RD$12,563,600.19, RD$9,488,646.57 and RD$8,372,805.28 respectively.
More than six million Dominicans are eligible to vote for President and Vice President, legislators and municipal officials in the May 2016 general elections.
