Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario has reminded all candidates for deputy or senator has to either have been born in the area they are representing or to have lived there for at least five years before the nomination in order to be eligible as a candidate.
He added that in the case of the municipal candidates, they have to have lived in the municipality for at least one full year before the election date if they want to be mayor, councilor or the director of a municipal district.
Roberto Rosario notified the political parties that in order to receive the election money from the state, they needed to submit reports on their income and expenditure of JCE-provided funds from 2012 to the present day. He also said that they have to respect the requirements and conditions that have to be completed and submitted to the JCE concerning the alliances and the registration of candidates for the elections to be held in May this year.
