Tobacco company shares sold

The state-owned Tabacalera company (CAT) has sold 50% of its shares to a Japanese company for US$14 million, equivalent to RD$630 million.

The agreement was announced at the Presidential Palace yesterday, Tuesday, 16 February 2016 at a press conference attended by government representatives and the key executives of the purchasing company, Japan Tobacco International.
