The ruling PLD party has announced that Francisco Javier Garcia, the current Minister of Tourism, has been chosen as the director of President Danilo Medina’s re-election campaign. Former President Leonel Fernandez was selected as general advisor while the executive vice president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), Ruben Bichara was designated operational director of the ruling party’s campaign.
Garcia was the campaign director for successful election bids by Leonel Fernandez and Medina himself in the past.
