New culinary school in Santo Domingo

The Instituto Superior Mariano Moreno has announced that its 2016-2017 school year will be opening on 7 March. International academic director, French chef Gilles Brune was present for the announcement on Wednesday, 17 February 2016. General director Adolfo Artiles said that their aim was to contribute to improving the skills and professionalism of the country’s gastronomy sector. The school will be offering two-year courses for cooks, pastry chefs and bread bakers. Short workshops will be available in costs, administration, menu making and digital marketing, Peruvian, Mediterranean and Japanese cooking, and chocolate making. The Instituto, which is located on Av. Lope de Vega 20, also has branches in Argentina (where it originated), Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela and the United States.
