According to the US Marshals Service, a man accused of murdering his baby son in 2011 was captured in his native Dominican Republic and returned to the United States to face charges.
York City Police charged 31-year old Johann Ramirez Herrera with criminal homicide in October 2011, when his 11-month old son Yohandy Ramirez died from injuries consistent with having been beaten and strangled. Travel records indicated that he had traveled to the Dominican Republic the same day he allegedly committed the homicide and after searching for over three years he was found by investigators in the eastern province of El Seibo.
The US Marshals’ Service thanked Dominican authorities for their cooperation.
