A court in the eastern province of La Altagracia (Higuey) has sent eight men accused of pimping and money laundering to three months of pre-trial custody, which they will serve in Anamuya jail in Higuey.
The men are Lorenzo Areche Melo (owner of the Ladies Factory nightclub) and his employees Joaquin Guerrero Garrido, Miguel Polanco Vasquez, Amos Jean Pierre, Juan Isidro Rosario Batista, Victor Luis Pinales, Edwin Perez and Juan Manuel Herrera Espinosa.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, during a raid they found 31 women allegedly working as prostitutes in the nightclub, also known as “Conejitas” (Bunny Girls), which is in Friusa on the Veron-Bavaro road.
