Attorney General Francisco Dominguez Brito says that the extradition of Cristophe Naudin from Egypt was a great step forward as he was implicated in the escape of two French pilots, Bruno Odos and Pascal Fauret who had been convicted of drug dealing in the Dominican Republic.
Odos and Fauret were sentenced to 20 years in jail after being found guilty of trafficking 700 kilos of cocaine. They were under house arrest awaiting appeal but on 28 October 2015 they violated their exit ban and escaped back to France. They were helped by Naudin, European Union Deputy Aymeric Chauprade and politician Pierre Malinowski and the Dominican Republic has issued arrest warrants for all three men.
