Pulso Dominicano (Telesistema) has announced that a poll by Newlink Research for the Corripio Communications Group showed President Danilo Medina leading with 50.5%, followed by 32.2% of Luis Abinader. Guillermo Moreno would receive 7.7% of the vote, Minou Tavarez 1.9% and other candidates 1.8%. 89.8% of Dominicans eligible to vote said it was very likely or likely that they will vote in the 15 May 2016 general election. The telephone poll carried out on 26 February 2016 surveyed 8,242 people.
An earlier poll by Pulso Dominicano on 2 February showed Danilo Medina with 50.5%, Luis Abinader with 34.2%, Guillermo Moreno with 4.3% and Minou Tavarez with 3.5%.
