See most of the Academy award-winning films in Santo Domingo theaters. Novocentro Fine Arts Theater is showing the 2016 Oscar winners.
Spotlight, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture is being screened at 4:45pm at the Novocentro, with tickets at RD$175. Take note the film starts promptly and there are no advertisements before the film.
Also showing at Novocentro is “Room” (starring Brie Larson, best actress in a Leading Role), The Danish Girl (Alicia Vikander, best actress in a Supporting Role), and The Big Short (Best Adapted Screenplay).
Palacio de Cine theaters at Blue Mall + Agora Mall are showing “The Revenant” (Best Director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Best Actor in a leading role Leonardo DiCaprio) and “Room”. The Revenant is also showing at Galerias 360.
Previous Oscar-winning films are showing for free at the Cinemateca behind the Museum of History and Geography in Plaza de la Cultura. Crash is being screened on Tuesday, 1 March 2016 at 7:30pm and 12 Years a Slave on Wednesday, 2 March 2016 at 7:30pm. Free admission.
