The Second Advocacy Film Festival is being held from 10-12 March 2016 at the Novocentro Fine Arts theaters on Av. Lope de Vega in Santo Domingo.
The film festival will feature shorts produced by high school students between the ages of 13 and 18 from 13 schools in Santo Domingo as part of their schoolwork.
The short films encourage young people to express their concerns and wishes for change by tackling human and environmental issues, and giving them the opportunity to be appreciated by a greater public and by jurors who choose the best shorts.
On 3 March 2016 a Festival of Bloopers will be chosen. The awards will be announced on 13 April 2016.
The event is open to the general public on 12 March, with tickets costing RD$200.
Tickets are for sale in advance at: Calle Bohechio #4, Urbanizacion Fernandez, corner Angel Severo Cabral, Respaldo Sarah Mercedes, Tel: 809 567-2525 ext. 25
