Nine of 10 new companies fail

The president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), Osvaldo Oller Bollanos says that nine out of every 10 companies incorporated in the Dominican Republic will close. He listed taxes, electricity problems and labor costs as the main obstacles. He said that it was important to modify the labor code to correct the regulations for severance payments and working hours. The Labor Code dates to 1992.
