The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued a green alert for the Atlantic Coast from Cabo Engano to Manzanillo due to high waves and strong winds.
The COE is advising small boats to stay in port or stay close to the coastline and not to venture out to the open sea.
The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that the rains will continue due to a frontal system but by later today, Tuesday, 8 March 2016 they would begin to diminish due to a dry air mass across the Caribbean. This high-pressure system will bring strong winds that will gradually cause high waves along the north coast, up to eight feet high.
