A Dominican music student, Gabriela Gomez Estevez, has been chosen to conduct the Harry Potter Music Concert at Berklee Performance Center in Boston, at 8pm tomorrow Thursday, 10 March 2016. The auditorium has capacity for 1,200 people and the concert is already sold out.
She will conduct the university’s Harry Potter Soundtrack Orchestra, a student club made up by Berklee music students. The promotion reads:
“Experience the magical symphonic music of Harry Potter performed live by Berklee’s finest musicians. The Harry Potter Soundtrack Orchestra takes you on a musical journey inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter in a night of symphonic wizardry. The program will feature selections from the soundtracks of the Harry Potter movie series.”
According to Acento, Gomez is the founder of the students club that plays the music of Harry Potter with 40 musicians and 20 singers from all around the world who study at Berklee. After studying flute at the Estudio Dina in her native Santiago, she won the Michel Camilo scholarship to study at Berklee, where has won the Tibor Pusztai award for excellence, the National Supermarket Association Academic Achievement Grant Recipient, the Nick Ciaizza Award Recipient in Recognition of Outstanding Musicianship and Berklee Achievement Grant.
