Theater director Giovanny Cruz has announced the March drama festival, “Marzo Teatral” will open tomorrow, Thursday 10 March 2016 continuing through 20 March at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo. The plays have the backing of the Ministry of Culture.
The event opens with a performance of “Duendes y locos de las dunas,” winner of the National Theater Award 2010. The play will be staged from 10-13 March at 8:30pm.
From 17-20 March, “Bolo Francisco,” winner of the Premio Casa de las Americas, written by Reynaldo Disla and directed by Claudio Rivera, will be staged at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
Barrio Sietetumbas will be staged at the Teatro Unibe of the Universidad Iberoamericana from 29 and 30 March.
The events are presented by Compania Nacional de Teatro (CNT), which is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
