The best Carnival groups from all around the country are heading north to Puerto Plata province for the Saturday, 19 March 2016 parade starting at 8pm. The event, which takes place on Cabarete Beach, is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and the Sosua and Cabarete Hotels and Restaurants Association (Asohoresoca).
This year, the Puerto Plata carnival characters won the best carnival groups in the Santo Domingo national parade.
