The Chamber of Deputies had to suspend its session yesterday, Tuesday 15 March 2016, when the legislators from the ruling PLD walked out.
The session ended in this unusual way when the PRM opposition deputies asked for a change to the agenda to hear the resolution to request an investigation as to whom within the country might be implicated in the Odebrecht case being heard in Brazil against President Medina’s election campaign consultant, Joao Santana.
Santana has returned to Brazil to answer the accusations against him.
Once the PRM asked for this the PLD deputies walked out.
However, PRM deputy spokesman Nelson Arroyo said that would make the same request at the next session when the legislature convenes on Tuesday, 21 March.
