Arturo Villanueva recently announced his retirement from the helm of the National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores) after more than 25 years. Villanueva has held the post of executive vice president since 1990. He said he would maintain his links with the sector and with Asonahores. Villanueva’s retirement becomes effective in May 2016, after the hosting of the annual DATE travel event in Punta Cana in mid April. It is reported that Villanueva will be staying on as an advisor to the Asonahores board. Asonahores has yet to announce his replacement.
