The Ministry of Interior and Police is reminding the public that businesses selling alcohol must close from midnight on Good Friday until the same time on Easter Saturday. This includes the so-called “Drinks”.
Minister Jose Ramon Fadul prohibited the use of public roads to install swimming pools near establishments where alcohol is sold or drunk.
He added that the Ministry would be carrying out inspections in bars and clubs to ensure that no minors enter, or that public roads are obstructed, no firearms taken into these centers as well as checking that the opening times are not violated. Music systems will be confiscated in cases where the legal noise level limits are exceeded.
Fadul says that the emergency Roadside Assistance service would be working during Easter Week from 7am to 9pm on the Las Americas highway from Santo Domingo to Higuey, Duarte highway to Puerto Plata and from the tollbooth on 6 November highway to kilometer 15 in Azua.
He reminded the public that any accident or requirement for assistance can be reported by calling *788 from any mobile phone. The highway assistance telephone number is 829 688-1000.
