Final Easter Week bulletin

The safety measures taken by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) during the Easter Week holiday appear to have had a positive effect. They included confiscating motorcycles and slowing down returning traffic to cities on highways. Yesterday, Monday 28 March 2016, the COE issued its final bulletin for Easter Week 2015, showing that 23 people lost their lives, five by drowning and 18 in road traffic accidents. The traffic accident toll was fifteen deaths on motorcycles and three in vehicles.

The figures represent a decrease over last year when there were 30 deaths, four drownings and 26 road accidents.
