The judiciary has ordered one year of pre-trial custody to the men accused of the failed robbery at the Fenatrano-Sitraur transport association office in Los Girasoles on Av. Monumental in the National District on Sunday, 27 March 2016. Judge Jose Alejandro Vargas sent the men to the 15 de Azua jail in the southwest. One of the accused, Alejandro Rodriguez (Suzuky) reportedly died on Thursday, 31 March 2016. Many of the accused are in the hospital recovering from their injuries. Reportedly, the Sitraur affiliate of Fenatrano was assaulted by 10 men, including two later identified as Police agents who recently had been promoted.
After the incident, the Police reported that three of the suspected robbers had been killed. Five people were injured, including two agents from the Police Criminal Investigations Division. Three suspects were arrested.
The robbery was interrupted by the arrival of a Police patrol.
