The Civil Aviation Board has approved new flights for Orbest and Aerolitoral. Orbest will fly Madrid-Punta Cana and Aerolitoral will add a second option to Aeromexico flying direct from Mexico City to Santo Domingo. New flights by Aerolineas Argentinas between Buenos Aires-Caracas-Punta Cana from 1 April to 31 October 2016 have also been confirmed. Aero Republica from Colombia will now be flying the Medellin-Santo Domingo route, while Air Canada has been approved to fly from Montreal and Ottawa into Punta Cana and La Romana. The Civil Aviation Board says that 53 foreign airlines currently serve the Dominican Republic.
