According to the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) a low-pressure trough associated with a frontal system has begun to affect provinces in the northwest, the north and some urban areas in the western part of the central Cibao Valley causing scattered showers.
The rains will continue gradually along the coastal plain of the Atlantic as the system moves eastwards. There is also a possibility of some isolated thunderstorms while this frontal system of effects local weather.
The agency says “for the rest of the work week the frontal system will continue playing a role particularly over the towns of the northeast, south and southeast of the country, due to an anti-cyclone circulation that does not allow it to move freely from the national territory. The note adds that no very heavy rains are expected.
