According to the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA-SIP) meeting in Punta Cana, there are four countries that deserve a mention for improving the freedom of the press – Paraguay, Argentina, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Dominican Republic was recognized for the partial elimination of defamation in the Law of Expression and Diffusion of Thought, and Cuba for the improvements made in the treatment of international press since the normalization of relations with the United States.
