The Central Electoral Board (JCE) is considering a proposal from the United States Embassy for 26 embassy representatives to act as observers for the 15 May elections. All foreign ambassadors in the country have been invited to be part of the electoral protocol, but this is the first time an embassy has asked for so many diplomats to act as observers.
The meeting will also discuss a report over state-controlled communications media, the process of issuing identity cards, and voting for disabled people.
