Solar power deal signed

Chinese photovoltaics (PV) maker Yingli Green Energy has confirmed that it has signed a deal for the supply of 200 MW of solar panels for several projects in the Dominican Republic.

The company has signed an exclusivity agreement with an unnamed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner from Europe. The exclusivity period under the deal will last through mid-2019.

So far, 50 MW of the PV projects have reached advanced development stages with construction expected to begin in 2017. The remaining part of the portfolio, which includes solar schemes with a combined capacity of some 150 MW, is currently in a preliminary stage of development.
