President Danilo Medina expressed the Dominican Republic’s solidarity with the people of Ecuador yesterday, Sunday, 17 April 2016 following the earthquake that hit the South American country on Saturday evening. Via his Twitter account, President Medina conveyed his sympathies with the Ecuadorians as they cope with the tragedy. More than 270 people are reported dead as a result of the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake. The death toll is rising as more bodies are being recovered from the rubble.
