PRM presidential candidate Luis Abinader says that President Danilo Medina turned down the invitation to the presidential candidates’ debate, which was held yesterday evening, Monday 18 April 2016, to avoid having to explain why he had failed to fulfill past promises. Abinader says that despite Medina being the President who has been in charge of the highest level of funds obtained through taxation and loans, he has still not been able to provide solutions to the main problems affecting the country. The PRM candidate said the money is being wasted on high consumption SUVs, on fuel, travel, restaurant bills, pointing out that when he travels around the country people ask for health centers, schools, and rural roads for themselves and their farm produce.
The Medina campaign has relied on a massive propaganda campaign and one-way interventions of President Danilo Medina who leads in the polls.
