New Anti-Terrorist Committee sworn in

President Danilo Medina swore in the members of the Anti-Terrorist Committee at the Presidential Palace in Santo Domingo yesterday, Monday 18 April 2016.

The executive director is Brigadier General Rafael Antonio Nunez Veloz and the role of the committee is to coordinate strategies, policies and programs for the detection, prevention and prosecution of terrorist acts.

The other members of the committee include the Ministers of Defense, Interior and Police, Public Heath, the head of the Police, the Attorney General, the directors general of Migration, Industry and Commerce, Customs, the Port Authority, Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Department of Airports and the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications, as well as Deputy Minister of the Presidency Juan Jimenez, National Drug Council president Fidias Aristy, National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) director Julio Cesar Souffront, and Banking Superintendent Luis Asuncion.
