Poll shows gap narrowing for presidential elections

According to a poll carried out by the Mexican company Votia, the gap between Danilo Medina and Luis Abinader is narrowing. The poll was carried out among a sample of 1,200 between the 14 and 17 of April 2016 with a 95% level of confidence and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2%.

The results showed that Medina has 47.5% and Abinader 43.1%, which would mean a second round of voting. Guillermo Moreno followed with 2.3%, and the remaining 7.1% was divided between the other candidates.

When asked for their opinion of the candidates, 75% were positive about Medina and 22% were negative, and in the case of Abinader, 72% expressed a positive opinion and 15% a negative opinion.
