The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has announced that 20 provinces are still on alert for flooding, overflowing rivers and mudslides.
The provinces on yellow alert are La Vega, Monsenor Nouel (Bonao), Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, La Romana, La Altagracia (Higuey), El Seibo, San Cristobal (especially in the Villa Altagracia area), San Pedro de Macoris, Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) and San Juan de la Maguana.
The provinces on green alert are Santiago, Espaillat (Moca), Greater Santo Domingo, Duarte (especially the lower Yuna river basin), Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabon, Montecristi, Elias Pina and San Jose de Ocoa.
The COE says that 692 homes have been affected, including four that were completely destroyed. A total of 3,480 people have been displaced, five roads affected, five communities cut off and five bridges damaged.
According to the Public Works and Communications Ministry (MOPC), the main road in San Jose de Ocoa and the northeastern highway have been affected by several mudslides, obstructing the passage of vehicles.
Civil Defense reports that the communities of Sonador, Palmar, La Sabana, Cevico Arriba and La Llana in Sanchez Ramirez (Cotui) province are cut off due to rising water levels of the Batero and Cevico rivers and parts of the communities of Los Contreras and Los Peinados in Duarte (San Francisco de Macoris) province have been cut off due to the rising waters of the Cano Azul.
