Five days before the 15 May 2016 general elections, a Newlink poll says that the PRM candidate for National District mayor, David Collado would defeat PLD candidate Roberto Salcedo who is running for his fourth term in office.
In affluent Circumscription No. 1, Collado would win with 51.8% compared to 36.2% for Salcedo. In Circumscription No. 2, Salcedo leads with 44.8% to 39.5%. In Circumscription No. 3, Saledo also leads with 45.4% against 43.3% for Collado.
The poll of 500 people revealed that 45.3% of voters prefer Collado, compared to 42.1% for Salcedo.
Other leading polls have shown that Salcedo will win with a comfortable margin.
