The builder of the Santo Domingo Metro, engineer Diandino Pena and singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra appear on the list of companies formed by the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca that specializes in creating offshore companies in tax havens as part of the so-called Panama Papers released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. The consortium published the database yesterday, Monday 9 May 2016.
El Dia publishes an easily readable list of the DR-related companies in their issue today, Tuesday 10 May 2016.
The ICIJ says that not all who appear on the list are making illegitimate use of the companies. The aim of the list is to expose politicians and criminals and the rogue industry that hides their cash.
