This year, the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) participated in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) for the first time. This follows on the start of the Emirates flight to Panama from where a relatively easy connection can be made to the Dominican Republic. The new flight is of special interest because it provides connections in countries where US, Canadian or European visas are not required. The non-stop flight to Panama City began on 31 March 2016.
Ministry of Tourism staff promoted golf, ecotourism and other attractions to residents of the United Arab Emirates and international attendees at the ATM fair.
The Arabian Travel Market is described as the market leading, international travel and tourism event for unlocking business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals.
