Alcohol ban for eve of general election

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has ordered a ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks, firearms, political propaganda and meetings, shows on any media 24 hours before election day, Sunday, 15 May 2016. The regulation is part of Electoral Law No. 275-97 that authorizes the JCE to take temporary measures to guarantee the success of the election. Political propaganda and campaigning needs to stop two days before, as of tomorrow, Friday 13 May. Alcohol sales can resume three hours after the close of the voting on 6pm on 15 May 2016.
