Gustavo Tavarez, the president of Maritima Dominicana, has been re-elected as president of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (Amcham) for the 2016-2017 period. The rest of the members of the executive committee were also reelected in April. The results were made official during a general assembly at AmCham held on Tuesday, 10 May 2016.
The members of the executive committee as well as the board of directors represent a Who’s Who of the Dominican business world. Every possible sector, from consulting to electricity to accounting to manufacturing in the free zone and of course tourism and construction are included. The list of names published in El Nuevo Diario includes Vicini, Leon, Brache, Ramos, Rainieri, Marti, Fondeur and Cruz.
