Victor Mendez Capellan of Vimenca had a narrow escape after being involved in a serious accident yesterday, Thursday 19 May 2016. It occurred at around 5pm when his driver, National Police Major Jose Tejada, blacked out and lost control of the vehicle after reportedly suffering a stroke at the intersection of Av. Winston Churchill and Romulo Betancourt in Santo Domingo. The black Lexus SUV hit four other vehicles, but no one else was seriously injured, including a pregnant woman and her five-year old son. Mendez received first aid from a 911 unit that promptly arrived on the scene, and his driver Jose Tejada was taken to a hospital.
