The government handed over 98 new buses to the Metropolitan Transport Office (OMSA) yesterday, Monday 23 May 2016 to improve public transport.
Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta, who led the ceremony, said that the buses had cost around RD$630 million and that with their addition OMSA now had a fleet of 430.
The new buses, which will be used for the Juan Bosch City and La Nueva Barquita routes, are expected to carry around 15 million passengers in one year.
