Tomorrow, Thursday, 26 May 2016 is Corpus Christi, a Roman Catholic feast. The Ministry of Labor confirms that it is a national holiday and that anyone who works on that day must be paid an additional salary as established in the Labor Code. Friday is officially a normal working day, but many companies and schools will extend the holiday and take Friday off, especially because Mother’s Day in the Dominican Republic falls this Sunday, 29 May. As well as being a major shopping weekend, many domestic travelers are expected to take off to beach and mountain vacation areas.
DR1 Daily News will do the same and an update will not be published on Friday, 27 May. News will be compiled for the Monday, 30 May 2016 issue. Breaking headline news can be featured in the DR1 Forums, open 24/7. See http://dr1.com/forums/forum.php
Happy Mother’s Day!
