President returns to inaugurating schools

President Danilo Medina inaugurated a new primary school in Guerra on Monday, 23 May 2016. The Profesora Juana Tavarez Liriano School will cater for more than 600 students, operating on the extended school day and providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. The new school has 20 classrooms and was built at a cost of RD$46,698,899.

The ceremony was also attended by Education Minister Carlos Amarante Baret, Francisco Pagan, director of the Office of Supervising Engineers of State Works (OISOE), Fr. Luis Ruben Sosa from the Madre Teresa de Calcuta Parish, school principal Candida Rosa Gomez, Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta, provincial governor Juan Frias, National District senator Cristina Lizardo, deputies Eduardo Hidalgo, Alfredo Martinez and Karen Ricardo, and teacher Juana Taveras Liriano.
