Economy grows 7.1% from January to April

The Central Bank reports that the Monthly Economic Activity Index showed a significant growth rate of 10.1% in April 2016 compared to April 2015. The growth leap follows the first quarter report of inter-annual growth of 6.1% (January-March 2016) for an accumulated annual growth rate of 7.1% for the first four months of the year.

The Central Bank reported that all economic sectors, including agriculture, posted positive growth rates during the January-April 2016 period.

The Central Bank announced that the Preliminary Economic Report for January-June 2016 would be issued at the end of the summer.
