President Danilo Medina has confirmed that the Dominican Republic is having discussions with the Venezuelan opposition, as published in Listin Diario.
He said that he was convinced that these discussions would help bring the Venezuelans together and in his role as President of the country and president pro Tempore of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) he expressed hope that both the government and the opposition in Venezuela could overcome their differences to come together in harmony.
Medina said that he would do all he could to support the process of dialogue that was also being promoted by the United Nations in South America (UNASUR) headed by the former prime minister of Spain, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, and former presidents of the Dominican Republic and Panama, Leonel Fernandez and Martin Torrijos.
