Seven provinces are still under alert for flood risks; Santiago, Santiago Rodriguez, San Juan de la Maguana, San Cristobal, Montecristi, and especially Dajabon and Peravia (Bani).
The Emergency Operations Center (COE) is advising local residents to be aware of possible rising rivers and streams and mudslides.
The rains are likely to continue for the time being due to a weather front that extends from Cuba to the west of Haiti. This front, combined with easterly winds will bring more rain and thunderstorms.
The COE reports that a strong gust of wind has blocked the road from Hato Mayor to El Seibo yesterday, Tuesday 31 May 2016, bringing down trees and electrical posts.
