The National Police has announced the arrest of two suspects in the attempted robbery of a woman as she arrived at her apartment building in Los Prados in Santo Domingo. The thieves entered the automated gate only to be surprised when she used a rifle to deter them from robbing her. The attempted robbery was captured by the surveillance video and was widely shared on social media.
Judge Jose Alejandro Vargas sent Pablo Isaias Medina de los Santos and Keisy Estevez Perez to La Victoria Jail. They are accused of attempting to rob Albania Pena de Feliz, who has been nicknamed “The Lone Ranger” on social media.
Medina de los Santos was already in jail for pre-trial custody for a previous armed robbery.
The court document says that on 23 May 2016, Isaias and Estevez together with fugitives Luis Enrique Lan Franco (Arique) and Richard Feliz Santos (El Guardia) arrived at Calle Olof Palme in Los Prados on two motorcycles and attempted to rob Pena de Feliz.
