Police spokesman Maximo Baez Aybar says that in addition to 25-year old Carlos Manuel Berroa Perez, the Police is looking for Alex Boquero, a second suspect who has been identified in the case of four muggers caught on video during a robbery in Santo Domingo’s Piantini neighborhood.
The surveillance video of the robbery, which was widely shared on social media, showed four men arriving on motorcycles and mugging a family as they got out of a parked car. Two handbags were stolen at gunpoint. Berroa Perez denies involvement in the mugging, saying he was just passing by.
Baez Aybar said the Police had added 50 patrols to Greater Santo Domingo to discourage crime.
